Feed the Birds Day

31 October 2011

Ok so this is a little embarrassing, the nice people at Nature’s Feast sent us a lovely bird feeder and some high energy bird food so we could take part in ‘Feed the Birds Day’ on Saturday.  Now we always take part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch and due to all the trees in [...]

A massive thanks to my parents who came to help us tame our garden this weekend. Hedges were trimmed back, trees prunes and all the roses and lavenders cut back. Miss L rummaged through the cuttings and rescued these for the flower jug, so pretty and they smell amazing!.  I love that she’s still so [...]

Mini Gardening Update

14 June 2009

The strawberry hanging baskets have worked really, really well and we’ve had some beauties from it. The potato bags….well something’s happened, the plants have collapsed onto the floor under their own weight.  I think it might be because I didn’t top up the soil.  Now of course I can’t get them up, but I suppose [...]

There’s still time to plant…

30 January 2009

Photo Credit: Besimos Photostream on Flickr TULIPS! Admittedly not a lot of time to plant them, but I think you’ve still got a good 2-3 weeks to either get them in the ground or in pots. Photo Credit: Besimos Photostream on Flickr They are well worth the effort as they are cheap and make fabulous [...]
