Goodbye 2012

2012collage2

Another year over – again! 2012 was bit of an odd year for us, there was the bad – losing my Great Aunt, discovering the house isn’t earthed and needs a re-wire (that’s a whole post in itself!), the move to Vancouver falling through at the last moment and having a few months with no work – that all sucked!.

But there has been good things too – I turned 40, our friends moved back from NZ and we got to see lots of them and their wonderful children, the lump I found in my breast that turned out to be nothing more than a couple of cysts, being nominated for The Mads Awards, the new bathroom, finally discovering what I’m allergic to and being able to treat it/avoid it as appropriate. And just having the luxury of  a wonderful healthy family and friends, I can never ask for more than that.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year and I hope to see you all again in 2013!

Merry Christmas Readers!

Like a lot of you, the Christmas lurgy is at our house and I’m running around after my poorly family – hence the lack of posts.

But I wanted to say Happy Christmas to you all and thankyou all for reading my ramblings all year!

Wishing you all a wonderful Holiday season and a Happy New Year!

Love and Hugs
Liz xx

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Yep we are that annoying family who put their decorations up as soon as well can, but never before the 1st December.  This weekend we had a great time, putting fairy lights up everywhere, the tree went up and the stairs was also prettied, pretty much everything but the front door wreath. I need to get a plain one and then Miss L and I can decorate it to our own taste.

This years tree was purely decorated by Miss L and it’s gorgeous.  All I did was put the fake tree up.  We had been thinking about a real tree this year. But after my escapade last week with the asthma attack and as I was diagnosed by the allergy clinic in the summer with being allergic to trees, shrubs, grass – well pretty much the whole of outside, Paul thought maybe it best we stick with a fake tree. As much as I hate it he’s probably right 🙁

But after the tree was up we decided to start making our teacher’s presents for this year, we’ve gone with vintage tea candles. Dead easy for Miss L to make and a nice pressie to give.  Here’s my tutorial from a few years ago – this year Miss L has pretty much done them herself. I love how my little girl is becoming such an independent young woman.

{Review} Snapfish Calendar

It’s my last review of the year, I really should be writing some Christmas Cards but have snuck on here quickly!  Oh and Mum if you’re reading looking away now!!

This is one of my favourite gifts to give at Christmas. I’ve been giving Snapfish Calendars to family since Miss L was born, I used to send them to Miss L’s Great Grandparents, Great Aunt and my parents. Sadly over the last couple of years all the Great Grandparents and Aunts have passed so this year I only had one to make for my parents 🙁

Snapfish is dead simple to use, you can upload photos from your hard drive, Facebook or Flickr – handy as pretty much all my photos are in those places.  You can then choose your calendar, I went with the £14.99 one with a plain white/black background – Mum doesn’t do colours! But there are loads of different backgrounds and styles to choose from.  And then all you do is just pop your photos in the different months as you wish or you can do it yourself or ask it to autofill for you if you are pressed for time.

My favourite thing is you can add family’s birthdays, or special events with a little photo of the person – handy to remind my Dad to buy my Mum a birthday present for example!

When you order the calendar you can also add on a print out of all the photos at the same time, incase you want a hard copy of the photos – which is quite handy if you’re like me and never think to print out all my digital photos.

I just noticed, whilst writing this that if you want to order before 3rd December 2012 there is 50% off here

*Disclosure – I got a free calendar worth £14.99*
