How the Feature Wall turned out

by Liz on November 16, 2009

I decided to go for it after all the postive comments after my Feature Wall post and I had to cover the wine!  So yesterday I popped to the local DIY store and picked up some Crown Paint in ‘Stepping Stone’ (it’s a Duck Egg Blue) and this afternoon I got to work on the alcoves.

Sorry I took the photos in the dark so they aren’t brilliant but you get the idea.  So now I need to change my tiles to reflect the new colour and get some new cushions in the same colour and I think it’ll look ok.  I’m really pleased with it, and it certainly looks better than wine on the wall ;)

Looks great with the clock too :)

Like the writing on the photos – courtesy of picnik I guess – thanks for that tip that I picked up by eavesdropping :)

So pleased you like it, the clock was the inspiration. I just need to find a home for it, I think the dining room. Picnik is amazing, I’m so pleased you’ve discovered it too :)

I think the colour is great and you could always paint the chimney breast too, if you are a little board of it. Blue and browns go great together, so it will look great with a leather suit.

It’s fabulous! The mantle “pops” so lovely against it. Great job!

P.S. The Culprit is still pretty darn cute, though. ;-)

Isn’t that the happiest color? It turns a dreary day into a bright one!
Looks wonderful!

GORGEOUS. I echo the sentiments that it will look even more lovely at Christmas, with red accents.

And if the hubby is still hesitant about wholehearted approval, may I suggest you remind him that at least it’s not the chocolate wall? ;)

Thank you so much, you’re all right it will look amazing with the Christmas decorations – which weirdly I’d not really thought about! I’ll take more pictures when the decorations go up :)

That is absolutely gorgeous. Oh my Lord I am so envious. Remind me to never let you see my house. ;D And ta for the offer of advice on my printer. HP are setting things right though so all is well. It seems we really do have the power. Mad!

First of all, your dog looks very innocent! Are you sure it was his/her fault?
It looks really nice though! Love those tiles!
