Red Magazine Photoshoot for British Mummy Bloggers

by Liz on November 2, 2009

It’s been a very, very exciting time for British Mummy Bloggers of late.  There are more and more of us daily and it’s wonderful to have so many more British female voices in the Blogosphere. Recently Susanna at A Modern Mother who is the founder of British Mummy Bloggers group (700 members and counting!) was interviewed by Red Magazine one of Britain’s best selling women’s monthly magazines for their January 2010 edition.  To go with the article they wanted a photo shoot of some of the members. Kindly Susanna asked me (I do the back end techie stuff) and three of the other founder members of British Mummy Bloggers Potty Mummy, Dulwich Divorcee, Jennifer Howze of Alpha Mummy in The Times to go along.

So this morning I got up at the crack of dawn and got the train to London and stumbled into a cab for the shoot.  The hair and makeup team were so lovely and made us all feel at ease – you can imagine how nervous we all were!  Here are some of the not so glamorous behind the scenes of us all being made up.

Me with *lots* of makeup on! I love how she did my eyes :)

Susanna sensibly asked the make-up girls to shoot some video on her Flip (seriously I need one of those they are awesome!) which shows us all getting the giggles, pop over to Susanna’s post to see it.

I hope you enjoy it and I’d like to thank Susanna and Red for such a lovely day x

I saw the video on Susanna’s site. Looks absolutely amazing. Looking forward to seeing the magazine and saying ‘I know those people’ in an over-excited manner. It’s be Vogue next!

Really looking forward to reading the article.

Also I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all that techie behind-the-scenes work. I’m sure it often went unnototiced, but how could BMB have flourished without you? I remember not even being able to upload the button onto my blog without your help! Thank you, Liz.

Thank you so much for all the lovely comments, it means so much. It’s a bit scary stepping out from behind the semi anonymity of a blog and getting out there. I can’t wait to see the photos, I really hope they have photoshopped my bum! ;)

Ooh, just watched the video, you all looked so glam! I meant to ask Alice how she felt about the whole anonymity thing too. Good for you, though, delighted to be represented by such gorgeous creatures! xx
