Saved from the Rain

in Flowers

Last night we were forecast heavy rain, a typical British summer!  I looked out in the garden and realised that my peonies which have just opened and the roses were about to get completely ruined.  So I cut a lot of them to bring them indoors and enjoy them in here. I wish I could have left them in my fruit bowl, don’t they look gorgeous? But they are now all over the house in pretty much every container I could find.  I don’t mind it rained now!

so very pretty. I haven’t seen yellow peonies before. I have light pink and white in my back yard. I hope to buy a few dark pink/fuschia this next week.
Glad you saved them. your house must smell completely divine!!

Wow! I’ve just seen some peonies in Waitrose (lovely but pricy) and yours look 10 times nicer. I’m now inspired to go and potter in my tiny garden :)

Beautiful!! What a fabulous array of colours!! I would have loved to cut my own roses but was beat to the punch, if you will, by a complete stranger who pulled up in her car with a set of clippers and helped herself to a bouquet from the bush on the side of my house. True. Story.
