You poor dear. Prayers & hugs coming your way. Sounds like you need to sign up for my new Mr. Linky. I just added it to today’s post (late, as usual). Everyone can list their “20 Things” that inspire them in fall. That will get your mind off the rude people of the world, anyways. So sorry about your BF and other concerns. Thanks guys, you’ve made me think that at least it’s not me being ‘sensitive’ about it. The weird thing is that I’m an only child and I don’t worry about it in the least, but I guess I saw it as a dig at Lily. I guess nothing pisses you off more than someone having a go at your kid!.

I’m sorry to hear this. Only children rock! I’m one and so is ds. This woman is crazy and rude. You can ignore her or ask her if she would like to volunteer to carry a sibling for your daughter. If she’s not, tell her to shut the #$%^ up. I’m just saying.

BTW, you’ve been tagged on my blog. Check it out. Maybe thinking about your own quirks will make you feel better.

You’ve had a rotten week, all this financial trouble is such a headache.
As for that mother – some people! Who does she think she is? Why not say something like ‘ it’s such a shame you can’t give your brood the individual attention that I give my one’ ? See her choke!

That’s really kind of you to say – it cheered me up! .

When she first started saying things I just kind of ignored it, but I thought I’d be pleasant and she’d stop. But no….so now I’m just ignoring her I just can’t believe anyone can be that rude about someone else’s family, I wouldn’t dream of commenting on someone’s family size. My SIL get’s it all the time as she has 5 children which in the UK is almost unheard of now, so I guess it’s the other end of the scale?

I’ll just make sure my Lily beats her daughter in sports day or something – LOL!

Oh, I’m so sorry to hear all of this! My goodness. No wonder you’ve been a bit down. Hang in there.

As for that rude mother–I think she has some “issues” and is taking them out on you. My son was an only child for many years. He was 7 and in 1st grade when I finally got pregnant with his sister Lily. I heard plenty of “Poor Jake” remarks from friends, family, and strangers, and it never ceased to amaze me that they would think it was an appropriate thing to say.

Anyway, research shows that only children are actually very well adjusted and do just fine. Try to ignore that awful woman! -Julia
