I’ve just started at Digital Scrapbooking (and I’m not that proficient yet!) Here’s my first attempt..
However my fun has been enhanced this week by the generosity of Nicole over at Sugarplum Paperie, who has been giving away all sorts of lovely scrapping goodies this week. So I’ve added a banner at the side of my blog as well in her honour, thanks Nicole!
Nicole and her site are being featured at Digichick so go check it out 🙂
I’m sending all my love and thoughts to my God-Daughter who delivered her beautiful little boy Leyland yesterday. He was born at 24 week gestation and is currently in the NeoNatal unit. All our love is with her and her son.
So this morning I woke up to this beautiful post from Restyled Home on my Google Reader (btw why don’t more blogs have an RSS streams?). Linda has created the most amazing playhouse for her daughter, it absolutely gorgeous.
Well….Miss L has been largely ignoring the playhouse we put in the garden for her when she was two, she never ever uses it. I would have given all my toys and pets for a playhouse when I was her age, but we lived in a flat and there was no way to have one. So as you can imagine I was desperate for Miss L to have her own cottage and then she didn’t want it – I was heartbroken! (living through your children is always a mistake!)
But this morning I showed her Linda’s post and she was *really* interested and kept talking about it. So I asked her about her playhouse and it soon became apparent that she didn’t see it as her space (more mine – oops!). So we set about changing it today so she sees it as her ‘home’ rather than the dumping ground it had become.
Before: Where the outdoor toys were kept.
Time to clean – Miss L especially liked cleaning the front door ‘step’
Completed! 2 hours later Curtains hung, furniture in place, storage, somewhere to chill and listen to music
The pillow area for ‘relaxations’ and music listening
The make and do table / tea party area
The new shabby chic clock from TK Maxx with walls ready for decorating
More seating and storage, with brand new pink stereo!
So thanks to Linda Miss L has her own space and I have some of my house back to myself 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!
I can’t possible write about how wonderful our holiday was, it’d be the longest post ever. So here are the pictures 🙂
I’ve just got back from out trip to Vancouver and what do I find? Tesco’s and Cath Kidston have teamed up to sell charity shopping totes! (Funnily enough I was talking to my husband just before we left and I was saying that Waitrose should do exactly what Tesco’s have done!).
They are £3.50 each and 50p goes to Marie Curie, I managed to buy two of the blue spotty ones this morning from my local Tesco’s but the flower ones were sold out. Apparently there is going to be another 4 designs coming out later in the year. Enjoy and catch them while you can!
(oh and according to the owner of a Home Store I found in Vancouver that stocks some old Cath Kidston items, the American’s ‘just don’t get her style – it’s too eccentric’?!?!?)
It’s the end of term tomorrow and my baby has finished reception – eek!! So as I’m more than a little broke I’ve bought small presents for her Class Teacher and Assistant because they have been wonderful this year. But Miss L also has group teaching with the other two reception teachers and their assistants. So over all there were seven presents to produce.
I’ve made floral posy’s using garden flowers and I have to say they turned out pretty well.
So you need some roses or whatever you have in your garden, wet kitchen roll, cling film and lots of elastic bands. We’re taking these in tommorrow, but in the meantime our dining room smells gorgeous!
::UPDATE:: Got to school to pick her up tonight and found out the end of term was today – DOH! So the teachers have these flowers now 🙂
To all the lovely Canadian’s I know….. Happy Canada Day! Have a great day 🙂
